My Story
Hi! I’m Wally
Thanks for being here!
I’m a dad, husband, and lifelong explorer based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. After years of burnout, grief, and life’s noise, I decided to change direction and began this journey to reconnect with nature, family, and a sense of purpose. What started as simple afternoons by the river turned into something more meaningful: a pathway to healing and a place to breathe again.
My hope is that sharing these experiences can help you find your own moments of peace and stillness, whether you’re deep in the woods, walking a local trail, or just looking for a break from everyday life. Here, you’ll find stories, tips, and reflections from our adventures, along with lessons learned the hard way.
If you’re drawn to family-focused travel, quiet moments outdoors, or the idea of living a bit more mindfully, I’d love to have you along for the ride. Let’s rediscover what really matters and build memories that stick with us for years to come.
Enjoy the Day!

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why hike in the creek when there are trails nearby?
I enjoy the excitement and focused calm of hiking off-trail while exploring new routes. It feels more adventurous, and I value time away from common, busy footpaths.
2. How do you stay safe while exploring remote areas?
I keep it simple, stay aware, and don’t take unnecessary risks. I always let someone know where I’m going, and only use skills I’m confident in. A calm mind and the right gear help, too.
3. What camera gear do you use to film your adventures?
I use a combination of GoPro Hero 11s and a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone. You can find a full breakdown on the gear page – Check It Out Here ➡️
4. Do you explore alone or with your family?
Both. Mostly I go solo for the YT channel to focus on filming, mindfulness, and safety. Other times the whole family comes but the adventures at the creek are tamer as safety is our biggest concern with young kids around water.
